Just for fun...

The other week when Ryan was out of town he watched an episodes of Rob and Big on MTV where they just tried to break as many records as they could. If you don't know what the show is it’s basically just a reality show about Rob who is a professional skater and his HUGE body guard Big and all the dumb things that they do. So Ryan told me about the show and the records that they had broken and one of them was that Big had eaten the most mini powdered doughnuts in a minute, which I think was like 9. Well after that we decided that we had to try it so we picked up a box on our way home to test it out ourselves! The rules were that you have one minute, you have to finish eating each one before you put the next in your mouth, and you can't lick your lips...which was the hardest part.
Ryan was up first and seemed to be eating them so slow! He was just sitting there calmly eating them like it was totally normal and he wasn't trying to eat as many as possible. He only ate 4 so I totally thought that I was going to kill him. I started and was such a spaz shoving the doughnuts in my mouth and flailing my arms around thinking that would some how make me eat them faster! Ryan got some pretty good action shots of me (this was the least embarrassing one!!) Sadly at the end of my minute I had only managed to eat three and a half doughnuts, I know that sounds like nothing but it was actually way harder than you would think! If anyone else wants to try it you'll have to let me know how many you could eat!

Officially A Working Girl

I started my first real day of work on February 3rd and I have already learned so much. I'm really enjoying my job and I love being in the spa setting. I did have my first hairy (but not sweaty!) man the other day and luckily it was only a 25 minute massage and I made it through! I think Ryan's pretty excited that I'm finally working and it is nice to have more to do when he is gone. I'm working on getting on specialty teams right now and am hoping that I can get on deep tissue, pregnancy and and a signature burke massage called Emilee's Intrigue. I'm hoping to be able to take the classes and the tests in the next two months so that I can start doing those types of massages at work. It will be really nice to have a little more variety in my schedule since right now I can only do a few variations of the basic swedish massage. Plus once I am on three differnt teams I can start having private clients at the spa which I know a few people are really looking forward to that! I'm getting used to my new schedule and my soar forearms but I'm really loving just getting to massage all the time and of coarse the perks of working at a spa!

Brad Paisly Concert in Vegas

For Christmas Ryan got me concert tickets for Brad Paisly in Las Vegas. I was so excited because he is one of my favorite country artists and Rodney Atkins was opening up for him and me and Ryan both love his first CD. The concert was January 26th so that Saturday morning we drove out to Vegas for a really quick trip. We got to our hotel and they had messed up with our room scheduling so they "upgraded" us to a room with a view of the strip which was kinda fun to have.
I was so excited to wear my cowboy boots since it was a country concert so of coarse I had to wear them. I just didn't really think about the fact that we were in Vegas on the opposite side of the strip from the Mandalay Bay where the concert was and that we would have to walk all the way there! The concert was so good! Chuck Wicks opended first and even though we only knew the stealing cinderella song we really loved his preformance. All his songs were so good! And then Rodney was up next and I absolutely love his CD and he was so entertaining, I think I could have left after that and been totally happy with the concert! Brad Paisly was one of the best country artist that I have seen live. He is so talented! He made me want to learn how to play the guitar just so that I could get one that looked like his! It was such a fun concert and a great present from Ryan because it was a total suprise. The next morning we drove back home so it was a really quick trip but it was a lot of fun and nice to get away for the weekend expecially since Ryan had been gone the three weeks before that!

A New Year And A New Job

January started out with a big adjustment for us, which we are still trying to get used to. Ryan took a new position at work as a consultant, which means lots of traveling. He travels from Sunday night to Thursday night, pretty much all over the country. Right now he is gone almost every week but hopefully once he is fully trained he'll only have to be out of town two weeks out of the month. Its a great opportunity for Ryan to grow within his company and he is really loving the new job, just not the traveling part. I've been trying to keep myself busy and I'm sure that my parents are getting sick of seeing me all the time now. But it is really nice having them so close so that I can go down for lunch or to spend the night if I don't want to be home alone. Ryan is getting used to being a traveling business man and loving all the frequent flyer miles he is racking up.

Ryans first out of town install was in Utah and they had a company ski trip planned for that weekend so I ended up going up with my parents Wednesday through Sunday to spend time with the family.

Emma had a sleep over at the hotel with us on Thursday night and me and my mom both got makeovers. She was so into the make-up and had so much fun putting it on us. All three of us looked so good with our bright blue and teal eye shadow on!

On Friday I got a chance to try out my new snowboard Ryan got me for Christmas when I went snowboarding with My Dad, Jon, and Lindsey. I hadn't been in a few years so it took me a little while to get back in the swing of things and even then I wasn't the best! Me and Linz ended up sitting in the lodge to rest and let my Dad and Jon go have fun on a few runs without having to keep stopping to wait for us to catch up!!

We had a fun day and the snow was amazing, but I was so soar after that I couldn't go the next day!
Ryan went snowboarding on Friday and Saturday with the guys from his work and on Saturday met up with my Dad and Jon for a few runs, and according to my dad Ryan is like a rocket going down the mountain.
He came back down to Provo for the night and we flew back home Sunday morning and he was off again that evening to Arizona. Its been a crazy year already with all of the traveling that Ryan has been doing but we're trying to make the best of it and just enjoying the time that we do have together.

December At a Glance

I know this was forever ago but here are a few pictures from Christmas. For some reason I really don't have any other pictures! I think they are all on my moms computer and I need to go get them. We had a really fun Christmas and it was great to spend so much time with family.
Me and Ryan had so much fun decorating our apartment and our first christmas tree. We actually even had two trees, and considering how tiny our apartment is I was pretty impressed. Of coarse one was very small and was in our room but it definitely added to the Christmas spirit.

The night before Christmas Eve we went to see the Glory of Christmas and the crystal cathedral with my family and Ryans family. It was really fun, I hadn't been since I was in middle school so I enjoyed seeing in again and loved watching the live animals and flying angels! It was a crazy month, lots of baking, shopping, and spending time with family. I just thought I'd post something really quick about christmas because I have so much other stuff to add!
